shorlyn is made by Aluzja, based on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect only what we need to run the product, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Waitlist
If you join the waitlist we store your email address and the page it came from. We use it for exactly one thing: telling you when shorlyn is ready. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from any future sends immediately. We do not share waitlist addresses with anyone.
Account and schedule data
When the app launches, creating an account stores your name, email address, and the scheduling data your club enters — classes, shifts, swap requests, and messages. That data belongs to your club: we use it only to provide the service, and people outside your club's organization can never see it.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to run shorlyn: our application and database hosting, an email delivery service for transactional email (verification, invitations, password resets), and an error-monitoring service (Sentry), which receives error reports and, when an error happens, a recording of the screen leading up to it with all text and form inputs hidden. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for anything else.
Cookies and tracking
The marketing site sets no analytics or advertising cookies. The app uses a session cookie (or a session token on mobile) strictly to keep you signed in. Your browser's local storage keeps your theme choice and a copy of recently loaded data so the app works offline. None of it is used to track you.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the waitlist at any time using the link in any email we send. You can delete your account yourself from your Profile, on the web or in the app: that removes your sign-in and contact details, and your clubs keep their past shift and hours records with your name on them. You can also ask us to delete your waitlist entry, your account, or your club's data by emailing hello@shorlyn.app — we'll confirm once it's done.
